BB Rock Shelter - GrandmasterJ

This mission has two separate maps, the first one players must take and defend an area. The second map is more of a typical walkthrough map where players clear hallways and reach an objective to end the map. SCMapDB page Author: Buschbaum Date of final release: 2022 Maps in package: 2 Map review of BB Rock Shelter (originally posted on SCMapDB) by GrandmasterJ | December 10, 2022 | 6775 characters      This series is broken up into two, maybe eventually three, maps. The first map is an attack and defend style of map, we rush a well fortified position and take it, then we defend that position from waves of enemies. The second map is a very mazey tunnel and vent heavy underground complex shootout. I much prefer the second map over the first and the overall length of the series compared to how much of it I enjoyed doesn't make a very appealing ratio.      The first map starts with us in a sort of well stocked supply room. I say kind of well stocked because there was a ton of amm

It is a contest-winning Sven Co-op 5 official map. Is all this prestige deserved? Let's talk about it!      First off, the gameflow is like this: you begin in a square hub area. On each wall is two doors, as well as two hatches on the floor. These doors open to worlds themed after their corresponding color, and after facing some trials you collect the door's symbol. Collecting the symbol unlocks the next door until every symbol is unlocked and the players proceed to the final arena and win the map.      Combat happens in segmented chambers, often involving wave spawners to wai

The visuals are striking and really make the themes pop. From start to finish the map is an absolute charm to play and although there is a lot of combat that gets repetitive at times there are also fun puzzles to solve so the gameplay is not one note.      The map is pretty simply designed, players spawn in a room with two doors on each wall and two trap doors in the floor. One door will randomly unlock and players will then clear that

Instead what I get is a weird mish mash of stuff with the thinnest veneer of politics over it. The map was made in 2017 and has references like a group of friendly soldiers named 'Rohingya Refugees' that get slaughtered by enemy soldiers, a pair of big mommas named 'Russian Hacker', an isolated group of firnedly soldiers named 'Starving Yemen Refugees', and at the end players find pieces of a submarine that went missing and was found wrecked that year

Being that this is a robootto map, the sight of destructible walls makes my blood pressure spike. There's no telling how long you'll be stuck whacking away at a destructible until it gives. Thankfully, most destructibles are fairly brittle. However, thanks to the dev's track record

The player must break through each using crowbars to proceed. Does it work?      I'd say maybe with a bunch of players it would. The players move from one end of the room to the other breaking the glass, which takes a while to break each pane, until they get to a scientist, a barney, and an otis. Bashing the brains out of the scientist immediately ends the map. The guards are inconsequential, and will only fire if the players act h

The glass panes get progressively stronger and players are only armed with a crowbar. With two players it took about ten minutes to break through, kill the scientist, thus instantly ending the map.      We restarted again, this time cheating to get SAWs, and blazed through about 1400 rounds each before breaking all the panes and killing Otis and Barney and letting the scientist live.
