Central Bunker - Dunkelschwamm

Image
We descend into the eponymous bunker and fight aliens and soldiers in our quest to turn off the power. The map is nice enough but there is a supposedly better remake that exists which sort of makes this version obsolete. SCMapDB page Author: Max Helbig Date of release: 2005 Maps in package: 1 Map review of Central Bunker (originally posted on SCMapDB) by dunkelschwamm | July 23, 2023 | 2426 characters      Central Bunker is an action map starring so great brushwork, some really neat action setpieces, some decent HEV, and no ammo or weapons. That's a gross overstatement, of course: the player starts with a crowbar and pistol, and soon in gets a revolver. I found two uzis in a secret, and beyond that our arsenal didn't expand until near the end. There's also one big crate of ammo, but beyond that there is almost no ammo to speak of that the player can actually use. There's shotgun ammo, but I never found a shotgun.      After being spawn attacked, players storm a b

Dial "A" for "Arson" - Dunkelschwamm

Based on a level in Gex by the same name, this map features a rooftop battle in a wacky city that players traverse through platforming and ladders. There is good music but also constant annoying sound effects. I have not played Gex, but am sorta aware of it, and knowledge that wall-climbing is a major element of Gex was crucial in figuring out the way forward.      The theme is rooftops in an urban skyline at night. Players battle snipers, bodyguards, "city rats" (baby voltigores), "mutants" (baby gargs), and robogrunts. To do this, they use pistols and then MP5, crossbow, sniper, hivehand, SAW, and spore launcher once they're found in

Resident Evil: Biohazard - Dunkelschwamm

The most recent Resident Evil map takes place in the streets and the Raccoon City Police Department just like Resident Evil 2. Later on it takes on a blend of different Resident Evil titles. SCMapDB page Author: Jamesmarine Date of final release: 2017 Maps in package: 1 Map review of Resident Evil: Biohazard (originally posted on SCMapDB) by dunkelschwamm | October 20, 2022 | 5842 characters      Resident Evil: Biohazard is a Sven Co-op walkthrough map themed after Resident Evil. Now, when you say Resident Evil, you might think: "gosh, what a media franchise! What Resident Evil could you mean? Do you mean the first game in the puzzle mansion? Or the second game, with the police station? Or the third game, on the streets? Or the movie franchise, which is totally different?" The answer to your question is "Yes."      This map is a big mix of Resident Evil media, barely glancing the essence of each game. Start in the streets, move your way up to the police stati
