Biglolly Coop - Dunkelschwamm

Big Lolly is a conversion of a standalone mod made for the author's brother's birthday. It's short and sweet,  pun intended . My understanding is that Big Lolly was originally made as a birthday gift to the author's brother. If my brother were to make a mod like this for me, I wouldn't even know what to say.      The port is very straight-forward and faithfully plays out the original mod in Sven Co-op. I remember playing this port a while back and having difficulty with it, but seeing that it has been patched makes sense as to why this time around the experience was so smooth and flawless. I do have to say,

The textures are nice, the level design is interesting, and the candyland concept is really fun. The map series may consist of 5 maps but each one is so short the whole thing just flies by. Enemies are zombies reskinned to be gingerbread men, headcrabs reskinned to be red gummy bears, and cockroaches reskinned to be tiny sour patch kids. There are also some nice butterflies flying around the maps and players can pick up snarks which are green gummy bears. The crowbar was a lollipop and the pistol was a banana, there wer

Half-Quake Amen Coop - Dunkelschwamm

Half-Quake Amen is a rather famous mod with a focus on save scumming and nasty traps. I haven't played the standalone mod but from what I hear it's really focused on messing with the player. Now it is available for Sven Co-op at the expense of some of its features. It's funny, tricky, and does a lot of weird gonzo shit that pokes fun at the concepts of "intuitive gameplay" and "rule of fun" which were all the craze when Half-Life had come out. Often the player is comedically punished for relying on intuition, and the mod reminds you from beginning to end that this is Half-Quake and you are her

He kept trying to get me to play and but I wasn't all that into the modding scene at that point. So when we got back into Sven and saw that Half Quake was converted we finally got to playing it.      I had fun. I love the concept of the creators themselves having a conversation with the player, not in a self-insert cringy kind

F-zero X - Dunkelschwamm

This map is an attempt to recreate, or at least pay homage to, the super fast racing series F-Zero. It has a track and forces players to be these floating car things. Be warned: there are flashing lights and high pitched music in this map. That's actually worth mentioning a little greater, actually: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!SEIZURE WA

Player speed is so high that the briefest tap on W sends you flying headfirst into the opposite wall. I don't know how but my teammate managed to press the start button. As for me I just could not position myself in front of it. I keep flying into a wall and sliding into the corner. I tired using the button from the side but it just didn't work.      My teammate meanwhile was alone on a very simple floating track. H
