Big Room Guy 2 - GrandmasterJ
This map is a nightclub that is locked up tight unless somebody goes through the secret way in and mans the ticket booth. The map has a dance floor with limited music mixing and a few other things.

This map looks fun, we start up and spawn in a small red room. Just inside the door is a line for a ticket booth, we can't jump over the ropes or the gate, we are trapped. So I go to the comments to see what's up and here is BlueSpark to the rescue. I can't explain it any better so I'm just going to copy and paste the whole thing right here:
"..It's just rather exclusive! Club goers can only be admitted by the person inside the ticket booth. The booth can only be accessed from the admin room - how do you get into the admin room? Well, in this map not all walls are as solid as they look.. try that wall on your left of spawn at the outside entrance to the club.. once you find it, keep going up as much as you can, the last jump upwards from the little step should do it.
If you get into the admin room, the first thing to do is go through the red doors into the ticket booth and press the button to allow as many of your friends in as you choose (idiots who insist on blocking the queue must be vote-killed). You can leave the admin room via the teleport which is on the small raised plinth, but the only way back in afterwards is via another secret hole in the wall just at the last bend of the big staircase which leads from the dance floor to the VIP lounge. It's a dark, secret back passage (oo-er missus) but if you jump around enough, heading forwards, you'll hit the spot.
The dance floor could really use some extras (lasers, girls, more tunes) but it's an old map, probably not worth the trouble."
Thanks BlueSpark, that's most of my review done.
I will add that once inside the admin room I immediately ran to a screen and used it which showed my a view of the DJ booth. Now blind I ran around the room accidentally stepping on the teleporter out and I ended up in a random corner very confused. The walls and ceilings are flat greyish and the floors are cement. Everything is very blocky and Black Mesa couches are everywhere. The dance floor is a cage over blood, like a scene out of Silent Hill.
But then we found the music buttons in the DJ booth, six in all, three for beats and three for sound effects. The beats can all be turned on at once and complement each other. The sound effects are "Get down!", and then Homer Simpson lines "Yoo-hoo!" and "Do'h!". I wish there were more vanilla Half-Life sounds, I could have used a "My god!" button so bad.
This map is really clever and fun. The architecture is a little bare and sparse and the dance floor has an eye-searing strobe. My teammate didn't seem to mind it but I had a very hard time looking at this map. We had fun exploring, there were a lot of secret areas but the secrets are hard to find since they are not hinted to at all in the map itself, a walkthrough is almost necessary.

Pros:
- The music buttons are the highlight of the map, they are very fun to play with
- Its fun that players in the know can mess with players who are not
- I'm so glad I didn't have to hack to get into the admin room
Cons:
- The map looks terrible
- There is an especially terrible strobe light over the dance floor
- as much as I like the exclusive entrance, it can stop new players from experiencing the map
Score: 6.5 / 10
