    Break The Glass is a map for Sven Co-op. Several panes of glass stand parallel to one another, completely from one side of a large room to the other, obstructing the player's progression forward. The player must break through each using crowbars to proceed. Does it work?

    I'd say maybe with a bunch of players it would. The players move from one end of the room to the other breaking the glass, which takes a while to break each pane, until they get to a scientist, a barney, and an otis. Bashing the brains out of the scientist immediately ends the map. The guards are inconsequential, and will only fire if the players act hostile toward them or their allies. There is one space on the ground where the crowbar spawns.

    I'd say the fact that the crowbar is a spawning thing really saved this map for me. I heavily abused the crowbar throwing, standing atop the crowbar spawner and throwing crowbars so they would bounce off the glass back toward me. Once I had a big enough pile of discarded crowbars piled up I could easily machinegun-toss crowbars at the glass pane and catch it as it bounced back for maximum damage. I made a fun game out of it, which was necessary because otherwise this is a blank yellow room full of glass with a simple end level switch at the end in the form of a gooey scientist.

    This map is pointless and bland. If you're in this much need for filler for your server, just learn how to make your own maps. The very first beginner map you make will have more substance than this.

Pros:

  • You can make a fun game out of throwing crowbars if you're fun and creative
  • Bashing a scientist's brains out with a crowbar at the end of this was a bit cathartic

Cons:

  • Ugly
  • Bland
  • Boring
  • Lazy
  • Pointless

Zombie Squad - Dunkelschwamm

       Suit up squad, it's time to go fight human grunts that this map calls zombies. This map is a horde map taking place in a burned out urban block, supposedly there are points to capture but I didn't see any.
