The second map of Ascii Art is not quite a sequel and not quite a remake. The whole gameplay flow has been changed and a new area has been added, not to mention the whole map is now at night.

This map is a lot like the first, the description says it is a nighttime version but that is not the whole truth. A lot of the map is the same architecture, but the spawn point and sequence of events is all different plus there is a new area and some new enemies. The terrible elevator is still there but now players have to deal with it at the end of the map and it is a lot more palatable now. But hey, there is only one elevator instead of two! That's big progress!
Players start in underground cells, this was about halfway through the first map. There are uboa zombies with tons of health and powerful attacks that kills players in one hit. Players spawn with no weapons and have to evade the zombies in tight hallways to grab a crowbar and wrench on some tables and then whittle the zombies' health down. There is a counter that the zombies can't breach for a safe zone but every enemy on this map seems able to attack through walls and here is no exception. With a lot more players I can see this part being way different, but my teammate distracted the zombies over by the counter allowing me to run up behind them and hit them with a fully charged wrench. It took a while.
After another section of this there is a ladder up to the lobby of a skyscraper, home of the infamous elevator and the center of the map. The usual load of SAW, M16, deagle, and associated ammo as well as melee weapons and medkit are here, with an updated spawn point. From here the city is mostly the same, just dark. There is a new building here with two stories, it seems to be a hospital? Research lab? There are hostile scientists here who will also kill you in one hit. There are some doors that sort of blend into the walls so be thorough in clearing the whole place out. After the building is clear, some baby gargs appear in the streets. Killing all of them unlocks the final boss (the least difficult enemy in the game, so not really a boss fight) at the top of the skyscraper after a bullshit elevator ride and killing him ends the map.
I did find myself running out of ammo a lot. Like all the time. My teammate or I would go back to get ammo in the middle of a firefight and then the other would die and respawn, thus getting the ammo first. It drew out some already drawn out firefights.
The map was obviously very similar to the first ascii art. There is a different building the player goes to in the middle, the sequence is mixed up, there are some new enemies, and since the elevator comes in the middle instead of at the start it allows me to have some fun before submitting myself to it. It's pretty good even if I had to go back for ammo constantly.
Pros:
- Very fun atmosphere
- fun custom models
- I love using the SAW
- There is now only one elevator and it has been moved to later in the map
Cons:
- Not enough ammo
- Some doors blended in with the walls and were a little hard to see
- The elevator ride is still bad
