    I'm not a fan of PVP in Sven Co-op, I just don't think that's what the game is about. I'm a fan of sometimes having friendly fire on though. This map is a box with friendly fire on it, there is some art of an anime character I don't know the name of (I would guess Kozmic?), some music, and some respawning crowbars reskinned to look like katanas.

    The level design is minimal, the decoration doesn't appeal to me and also the pictures will disappear if you get to close to them, it's weird. Its not inspired and its not a great arena. But after stabbing my teammate to death he respawned and started throwing katanas at me. Then we started throwing katanas back and forth. Then the map ended, there is a pretty short map timer. Its so short in fact that we restarted the map to see if we triggered something or if the map just had that short of a timer. Then we stood on top of the katana respawners throwing them at each other across the map until he killed me, thus becoming the champion of Kozmic much to my shame and disgrace.

    I did have a sick kind of fun with this map, like playing slappers on old school Goldeneye. If the timer wasn't so short maybe I would have played more, I can see how a bunch of players can have a lot of fun with this map. But its also a box with anime pictures in it. Its real low effort and I feel like the fun we had was something we made ourselves.

    Now, that's the end of the review, but then my teammate asked me how long the timer was and I specifically glossed over that because I didn't want to go back to double check. I restarted the map, and the timer started at 22 minutes, that's not right. Then my teammate joined and he was my teammate and not my enemy. There are teams, and we were on the same one. One suicide later and that issue was fixed, he killed me and the timer dropped to two minutes. So that's how all that works.

Pros:

  • I like the pvp crowbar only concept
  • music is oft overlooked, and I appreciate when it is not.

Cons:

  • timer is really short
  • The map layout is a box
  • not sure the decoration would appeal to anybody who is not a fan of the anime catgirl
  • effort has been put into the PVP and teams, but the timer marginalizes all of it

Welcome friends, to Sven Co-op map reviews.     My name is GrandmasterJ and my colleague and other reviewer who is not writing this post is Dunkelschwamm.  This blog exists purely because we have zero faith that Wikidot will exist much longer and want a place to host our reviews. Zombie Squad - Dunkelschwamm

       Suit up squad, it's time to go fight human grunts that this map calls zombies. This map is a horde map taking place in a burned out urban block, supposedly there are points to capture but I didn't see any.
