Muumimaaliset - Dunkelschwamm
The author of this map,Robootto, is Finnish. Sticking the map name into Google translate spits out 'Muumin valley'. Google the terms, it's some interesting Finnish culture, too bad the map looks like a gravel pit.

This map is a weird one. A very strange looking zombie with a tremendous amount of health but a seeming inability to deal damage stalks players in a small, circular, bizarre field with some skewed crosses in one corner and a massive tower silo in another corner. A strange blob lurks within. Spend entirely too long with all of your weapons killing these creatures. There is no catharsis. Spend the rest of the map timer thinking about what you've done.
That's what's in store when you play Muumimalliset. There's some mention of the Moomin Valley in the map, which would explain the name, but I don't really understand how any of the rest of the map is in any way a reference to that. It's all very strange. It might be an in-joke that I have no hope of understanding because of cultural barriers.
The visuals aren't great, but they are interesting. There's a lot of imagination behind what's being shown, even if it kinda looks like caca in how the brushwork and textures are used.
I can't really recommend the map. Look at screenshots of it. If that looks like something you'd be interested in- well, you're in luck because that's all there is! Play with that understanding.
Pros:
- Weird new enemy models were interesting to look at
- For what it's worth, all of the visuals in this map were interesting to look at.
Cons:
- Annoying to play
- Even if interesting, the map is ugly
- Generally pointless- no progression or conculsion
Score: 1.5 / 10
